At about 13 Friday hours 16 President Michelle Bachelet came to Fort Fog. During this period she toured the new bridges that are part of the works of improvement that, then, inaugurated in a ceremony with regional authorities and national. The improvement project Fuerte de Niebla had an investment of 3 thousand 420 million pesos, resources that were funded by the National Fund for Regional Development and the Inter-American Development Bank. Among the works carried out are cleaning and weeding and protection of existing traces and ground defense walls, chapel, magazine and moat. Further, the construction of overhead walkways, improving access and security, and the implementation of a lighting and signage. Also, were remodeled museum's administrative offices and facilities built for use by craftsmen. The restoration project is part of the National Plan of Integrated Mejoramieno Museums, which has modernized other 17 museums in ten regions.
